Day 1 |
Arrival in Paro to Thimphu
On arrival in Paro International airport, we will extend traditional warm welcome by HBT team and escort you to Thimphu, capital city of Bhutan. The ride takes slightly more than an hour to reach Thimphu. In Thimphu, check into our hotel for lunch. In the afternoon we will visit memorial chorten, built in the memory of late 3rd king. Visit Buddha point at Kuensel Phodrang which offers panoramic views of the entire valley. Drive back to the hotel to prepare for tomorrow’s adventurous day. Overnight in Thimphu, altitude 2400m. |
Day 2 |
Thimphu fishing
After our leisurely breakfast, we will drive to the fishing stop and try our luck. If the flies are appropriate we will get to see planty of spotted trout and sometime snow trout and catfish. Recent private research on fishes of Bhutan through Fufford Samm Grand shows a record of 183 species of fishes found in Bhutan, mostly native fishes. If you wish we can proceed for city sightseeing in the afternoon. Overnight in Thimphu. |
Day 3 |
Thimphu Fishing to Paro
After our breakfast we may do some cultural sightseeing in Thimphu before proceeding to Paro or try fishing in different spot at different time. Since the country and people are so religious, not much people do fishing in Bhutan, therefore fishes are almost people friendly. Sometime we can gaze clearly in still water too. On arrival in Paro, check into your hotel and relax or we will explore the tiny Paro town. Overnight in Paro, altitude 2200m. |
Day 4 |
Paro to Haa
Haa gives us fabulous place for catch and release fishing; therefore we will be heading to have out night at quite timeless Haa valley, which was opened to tourist a decayed ago. Similar kind of fishes and catla are found quite often in Haa river. En-route we may hike around chelela pass and visit beautiful kila Gonpa nunnery. Rest of time to explore small town of Haa. Overnight at Haa, altitude 2250m |
Day 5 |
Haa to Paro
Morning after our leisurely breakfast, we will head to fishing spot and try sometime before proceeding to Paro. Lunch at Paro tonw, after lunch we will visit national museum of Paro, which houses the collections of religious artifacts of Bhutan and Paro Dzong, the giant fortress built by founder of Bhutan in 17th century. We will take a lovely walk down from the fortress to road head to catch our car crossing beautiful cantilever wooden bridge built over Paro river. Overnight in Paro. |
Day 6 |
Paro sightseeing
Morning after the breakfast, we will take straight drive to north end of Paro valley and hike to Tiger Nest temple (Taktsang), Taktsang is the most revered temple to the Buddhist. This magical temple clings to a vertical granite cliff 900m above the valley. Legend has it that in the 8th century, Guru Rimpochey, a tantric master flew here on the back of a tigress and meditated in a cave around which the temple is built. The hike to this temple will take up most of our day (2 Hrs uphill). Evening relax at your hotel or take hot stone bath, Bhutanese traditional bath. Overnight in Paro. |
Day 7 |
Departure
Seven days tour will be ended today morning after boarding your flight to back home, you will carry smile on your face, eyes with tears and memories unlimited. Tour staffs will bid you farewell at the airport with the quick prayer of save journey and to see you again in future. |
